In this contract, we want to emphasize the significance of your role in having a positive impact on your educational experience.

By signing this contract and following the program rules, you take an active role in shaping your own success and fostering a nurturing educational environment. Remember, your choices today will pave the way for your achievements tomorrow.

Section 1: Purpose and Importance of the Contract

This contract serves as a mutual understanding between students and school (Internexus Provo), fostering an atmosphere of collaboration and cooperation. It outlines the principles, expectations, and guidelines that will empower you to make informed decisions, act responsibly, and maximize your experience.

Section 2: Acknowledging Responsibilities

You acknowledge the importance of prioritizing your education and committing yourself to academic excellence. This includes active participation in class, regular completion of assignments and seeking help when needed.

Section 3: Homestay

3.1 Tips

The Utah-Intercultural goal of the Homestay Program is to help students have an immersive experience in American culture. To fulfill our objective, we need you to be an ACTIVE person. Here are some tips to make that happen:

– Spend time with your host family: try to be with them as much as possible;

– Going out with them: going to the park, church or even shopping at the supermarket;

– Try to talk to them as much as you can, that way you will be practicing your speech.

3.2 Policies:

To make this experience more than amazing, we need you to understand and abide by the following rules. The non-compliance to these rules will result in the removal of the student from the Utah-Intercultural Homestay Program.

A) If you arrive at home late, you need to call your host family and inform them: the name and phone number of the person with you, and  when will you be at home;

B) To live in a pleasant environment, everyone (men and women) must help to clean and maintain the house and yard. Don’t wait to be asked, you must offer to help!

C) You need to clean your bedroom and bathroom and keep it organized.

D) If you want to invite friends over to your house (for dinner or entertainment), you must ask first for permission.

E) Drinking alcoholic beverages is not allowed. The purchase or consumption of alcoholic beverages by persons under 21 years old is prohibited.

F) Smoking is not allowed. The purchase or consumption of any tobacco, vapes, electronic cigarette and nicotine product by persons under 21 years old is prohibited.

G) Each host family has its own rules. You must abide by your host family’s rules.

H) Give your host family the name and phone number of your emergency contact.

I) If you feel sick, tell your host family immediately, as they will be able to help you. If necessary, your insurance card is in the back of your ID provided by Utah-Intercultural and your host family has a copy of it.
